The pastel shade of the glass slightly colors this light, which argues for an installation above a decorative mirror rather than in front of a shaving mirror.

General installation rule: the bar about ten centimeters above the mirror frame. In a child's bedroom, lower it to about 1.50 m to keep the flowers at eye level, out of direct reach.

Material, finish and maintenance

The glass petals multiply the corners where dust accumulates: a soft-bristle brush works better than a cloth, which catches on the edges. The metal frame is wiped dry. The tinted glass does not fade, but an abrasive product would dull the surface.

Bulb and installation

Each flower receives a large screw base, in LED according to the manufacturer, not included. Allow two or three bulbs depending on the version. In colored glass, a frosted bulb distributes the shade better than an exposed filament. The connection is made by cable on a fixed output, behind the bar.

Frequently asked questions

Two or three lights above a mirror?

Align the number of flowers with the width of the mirror: two for a standard dressing table mirror, three for a wide mirror or bathroom cabinet. A version that is too short leaves the ends of the mirror in the shadows, a flaw visible as soon as you approach.

Does the colored glass change the light?

Yes. Pink or blue glass filters part of the spectrum and slightly tints the lighting. The effect is decorative and pleasant in ambiance, but it distorts the perception of colors: to apply makeup with precision, plan a second neutral white source nearby.

Is it suitable for a child's bedroom?

The pastel shades and the floral pattern lend themselves to it, and the manufacturer cites the bedroom among the targeted rooms. However, glass remains a fragile material: place the wall light out of reach of a bunk bed or a play area, and prefer LEDs, which heat up little to the touch.

How does this wall light perform in the bathroom?

IP44 allows installation in the bathroom outside the shower and bathtub volumes. Above a sink mirror, the protection is sufficient against splashes. Just think that the tinted light is better suited to an auxiliary washroom than a daily preparation mirror.

To go further

Find the decorative models from our selection of wall lights.
