The downward-facing shade is ideal where you want a pool of light rather than general illumination.

General installation rule: aim for 1.70 m above the floor on a walkway wall, or 1.20 m if the wall light is used for reading by the bedside. The tinted glass warms the perceived colour of the bulb.

Material, finish and care

Clean the glass when it is switched off and cool, using a soft, slightly damp cloth. The gold or chrome metal should be wiped dry: abrasive products will mark these glossy finishes with fine scratches visible up close. Avoid using glass cleaner directly on the metal.

Bulb and installation

The socket is a G9. The manufacturer specifies a 5 W incandescent bulb or LED equivalent, not included. As the shade opens downwards, a short G9 remains hidden from below. The light is hardwired, so a cable outlet must be provided in the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Which G9 bulb should I choose for Cloche?

A 5 W incandescent G9 or an LED with equivalent light output. Choose a compact model: the bell shade is short, and an elongated capsule would protrude from underneath. In warm white, the light complements the beige or pink glass of the model.

What is the difference between models A and B?

Both share the same dimensions of 16 by 26 cm, the same G9 socket and the same colours. Only the design of the arm connecting the backplate to the shade differs. The choice is therefore aesthetic, with no impact on installation, space requirements or the bulb required.

Can I dim Cloche?

The manufacturer states that it is compatible with dimmers, which are not included. You will need a G9 bulb that is itself rated as dimmable by its manufacturer, as not all LEDs are. Have an electrician install the dimmer and check the module's minimum load.

Does the beige or pink glass change the light?

Yes. The tinted glass filters part of the spectrum and softens the perceived colour: beige leans towards amber, while pink creates an even warmer hue. The effect is noticeable when the wall light is switched on alone in the evening, but much less so in broad daylight.

Discover more

Browse our full range of wall lights.
