Pink glass warms up a white wall, while beige matches natural tones.

General installation rule: 1.70 m above the floor in a hallway, so that the globe remains above eye level. When installed in pairs, space the lights approximately 2 m apart to avoid a dark area between them.

Material, finish, and maintenance

The body is made of copper, with no other finish specified by the manufacturer. Like all copper, it may tarnish over time: a soft, dry cloth is sufficient for routine maintenance. The tinted glass should be cleaned with warm soapy water while the bulb is cool, then dried immediately to prevent streaks.

Bulb and installation

The socket is an E27 screw-in type, and the bulb is not included. LED or filament bulbs are suitable; the tinted glass reveals the light source, so a bulb with a refined appearance is recommended. The wiring is fixed: plan for a cable outlet and a wall switch.

Frequently asked questions

Which E27 bulb should I use in Doyle?

Any E27 screw-in bulb is suitable, LED or filament, and it is not included. The manufacturer does not specify a maximum wattage, so stick to a low-wattage LED in 2700 or 3000 K for a 14 cm globe. North American E26 bases screw into the same socket.

Pink, white, or beige: which glass shade should I choose?

White diffuses the most neutral light and matches all walls. Pink gives a warmer light and a colored reflection even when turned off. Beige is close to white but softens the contrast with a cream wall or light wood. The copper body remains the same.

Is Doyle suitable for a hallway?

Yes, this is one of its most straightforward uses: the globe protrudes little from the wall, with a height of 21 cm and a diameter of 14 cm, leaving the passage clear. Mounted at around 1.70 m, it illuminates without glaring. However, the IP20 rating means it is not suitable for damp rooms.

Is a special electrical installation required?

The wiring is fixed: a cable outlet in the wall and a wall switch are required to control the light, as it has neither a cord nor a plug. If the light point already exists and is controlled by a switch, installation is limited to fixing the copper plate.

Learn more

Compare the glass and metals in our selection of glass wall lights.
