It requires at least 1.30 m of clear vertical wall space.

General installation rule: place the top of the column around 2 m from the floor, so that the bottom ends around 1 m, out of shoulder reach in a passageway.

Material, finish and maintenance

The glass is cut, molded, and then polished: its edges reflect light in shards. The chrome-plated stainless steel is cleaned with a soft, barely damp cloth, then immediately dried to prevent marks. On a piece this long, dusting is done from top to bottom, with the light fixture turned off.

Bulb and installation

No bulb needs to be purchased: the LED is integrated, at approximately 10 W. The manufacturer states that control is required, to be planned for with the 110 to 240 V connection. The 6 kg distributed over one meter requires anchoring in a solid support, rather than a simple plasterboard.

Frequently asked questions

Is a load-bearing wall required for Prism?

Six kilos distributed over 103 cm exert a significant lever force. A solid wall, brick or concrete, easily accepts hammer-in wall plugs. On a plasterboard partition, aim for a metal stud or install a reinforcement behind the board. Have the support approved by a professional.

Warm white or cool white?

Two versions are available. Warm white, around 3000 K, is suitable for a living room or a residential staircase. Cool white leans towards 6000 K and is more suited to a hall or a workspace. As the LED is integrated, the color cannot be changed after purchase.

What does "control required" mean?

The manufacturer's data sheet indicates that a control device accompanies the integrated LED. This module is housed behind the base or in an recessed box and must remain accessible for possible replacement. Plan a location for it when drilling the hole, before closing the wall.

Does Prism illuminate an entire room?

Ten watts of LED distributed over a glass column provides accent lighting, graphic rather than powerful. The cut edges scatter reflections on the adjacent wall. Consider Prism an ambient light source, to be supplemented by a ceiling light or accent lamps in a large space.

To learn more

Browse the vertical pieces in our wall light collection.
