Colored glass casts its hue on the adjacent wall: choose a light-colored background so the effect is visible. The three-light version spreads horizontally and requires an unobstructed wall, unlike the single-light version.

General installation rule: with a colored shade, install the wall light where the wall receives its light directly, for example in a corner or along a partition, rather than in the middle of a large open space.

Material, finish, and maintenance

The tinted glass is mounted in segments on a metal frame. The joints trap dust: a dry brush cleans them better than a cloth. Never immerse the shade or apply pressure to the glass pieces, as their glued edges do not tolerate twisting well.

Bulb and installation

Allow one E26 or E27 bulb per light, meaning one, two, or three depending on the version, none of which are included. The manufacturer does not specify a maximum wattage: a low-heat LED protects the shade's joints. The power supply ranges from 100 to 240 V, and assembly is required.

Frequently asked questions

How many lights should I choose for Kady?

The single-light version creates an accent on a narrow wall, for example near a door. The two- or three-light versions become the dominant feature of the wall and illuminate a wider area, which the manufacturer rates between 5 and 10 m². Each light requires its own E27 bulb.

Does the color change the light in the room?

Yes, that is the nature of tinted glass: light passing through red significantly warms the atmosphere, blue cools it, and multicolored blends the two. For useful light, complement Kady with a white light source. For ambient light, the colored glass is sufficient.

Does IP44 allow use in the bathroom?

The stated IP44 rating protects against water splashes and corresponds to common uses around a sink, outside the shower area. The manufacturer lists the bathroom among the possible rooms. Compliance with the volumes defined by the electrical standard should be checked with an electrician.

Are the glass wings identical from one piece to another?

A shade assembled from glass segments is fitted by hand, so the cutting of the tints varies slightly. The manufacturer also notes a tolerance of 1 to 3 cm on measurements and slight color differences between the photo and the delivered piece.

To learn more

Compare the glass of our selection of wall lights.
