applique-murale-travertin-led-kosmo
Travertine LED Wall Light - Kosmo

Kosmo: a 15 cm LED travertine block

Kosmo is a LED wall light carved from a 15 cm travertine block, 5.5 cm thick. Its diffuser is made of polycarbonate, and the integrated light source consumes approximately 5 W.

The manufacturer states that the travertine patterns vary from one piece to another: the images do not show the actual item delivered.

Technical specifications

Dimensions: 15 cm long, 5.5 cm wide, 15 cm high

Body: travertine

Diffuser: polycarbonate

Light source: integrated LED

Power: approximately 5 W

Stated colors: beige, transparent

Dimmable: not compatible with a wall dimmer switch

Where to install this wall light?

A 15 cm square that protrudes only 5.5 cm from the wall is ideal for tight spaces: a narrow hallway, a small landing, the return of a bedroom wall, or in a row above a baseboard. Its 5 W power makes it suitable for accent lighting rather than as a main light source.

General installation rule: to light a passage, install several units at the same height, around 1.10 m above the floor, spaced 1.20 to 1.50 m apart. Positioned lower, the light grazes the floor and highlights the wall's irregularities.

Material, finish and maintenance

Travertine is a porous stone: wipe it with a dry cloth and avoid detergents, especially acidic ones, which damage its surface. The polycarbonate diffuser should be dusted in the same way, without alcohol or solvents. As the veins in each block are different, two Kosmo units installed side by side will not have the same pattern.

Bulb and installation

No bulb is required, as the LED is integrated into the light fixture's body. The manufacturer states that it is not compatible with a wall dimmer switch: plan for a standard switch. The connection is made to a cable outlet; on a stone block of this size, use wall plugs suitable for the surface and hire a professional to carry out the wiring.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kosmo sufficient to light a room?

No, its 5 W power makes it suitable for accent or pathway lighting. It highlights a walkway, accentuates a wall, or complements another light source, but does not replace a ceiling light in a living space. In a hallway, several units aligned will provide better results than a single one.

Can it be used with a dimmer?

The manufacturer states that the supplied light source is not compatible with wall dimmer switches. Connected to a dimmer, it may flicker or hum. The manufacturer mentions that customization is available for dimming requirements: ask us before ordering if this feature is important to you.

Will two units look the same?

No. The manufacturer states that the travertine patterns vary from product to product and that the images do not correspond to the block shipped. Two Kosmo units will share the same shape and overall color, but their veins will differ, as with any natural stone.

How to clean a travertine body?

With a dry cloth. Travertine absorbs liquids: avoid standing water, cleaning sprays, and any acidic products, from vinegar to lemon-scented detergents. If a mark persists, a barely damp cloth passed over quickly and then dried immediately remains the safest solution.

Learn more

Browse our wall light collection to see other stone models.
