Downward illumination is well suited to these uses: it guides the way without glare. Placed above a console table or headboard, Nula casts a cone of light on the wall.

General installation rule: for downward illumination, place the wall light at approximately 1.70 m above the floor so that the cone opens widely. Above a headboard, lower it to around 1.35 m and aim it at the edge of the mattress.

Material, finish and care

Travertine is formed by limestone deposits and retains its characteristic open pores. Two wall lights will therefore never have the same pattern. The stone is porous: wipe it with a dry cloth, without soapy water or acidic products, which would penetrate the material. Dust the wood in the same way, using a dry cloth.

Bulb and installation

The bulb is not included. The specified socket is E26 or E27, and the manufacturer lists LED and Edison-style filament bulbs. No maximum wattage is given: with stone and wood close to the light source, stick to a low-energy LED. Direct wiring, 110 to 240 V.

Frequently asked questions

Are two Nula wall lights identical?

No. Travertine is a natural stone whose veining and pore density vary from one block to another. If you install two on either side of a bed, they will share the same shape and finish, but not the same stone pattern. This is the nature of the material.

Is a filament bulb suitable?

The manufacturer explicitly lists it alongside LED bulbs. A visible filament complements the stone and wood. Choose an LED filament bulb rather than an incandescent bulb: it provides the same look while giving off much less heat near the travertine.

Does travertine require special treatment?

The manufacturer does not specify or prescribe any treatment. We therefore recommend dry cleaning only. Simply avoid installing the wall light in a damp room: the IP20 rating already excludes this, and porous stone does not tolerate the condensation cycles of a bathroom well.

Can it be installed in a hallway?

Yes, the manufacturer's description includes hallways. The downward illumination guides the way without glaring those walking through. Allow for one wall light every two to three meters for continuous lighting, and ensure that the stone's protrusion leaves the passage clear.

For more

See also our natural stone wall lights.
