The 15 x 32 cm size, narrower and taller, fits between a bed and a door, or in a hallway where depth is important.

General installation rule: above a bed, position the bottom of the lampshade between 1.20 and 1.40 m from the floor, so that the fabric conceals the light source when sitting in bed.

Material, finish and care

The lampshade is made of beige fabric: dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner set to its lowest setting, never with water. The frame is metal, and its wood color is a surface finish, as the manufacturer's data sheet lists only metal and fabric.

Bulb and installation

An E27 screw-in bulb is required, not included. A warm white LED around 2700 K matches the beige fabric; a filament bulb gives a more amber light, visible beneath the lampshade. The wiring is hardwired, connecting to a 110 to 240 V cable outlet, with an upstream push-button switch.

Frequently asked questions

Which size to choose between 20 and 32 cm?

The 23 cm diameter and 20 cm high size casts a wider light: it is suitable above a piece of furniture or bedside table. The 15 cm by 32 cm size remains narrow and fits in a passageway or near a door frame. Both take a single screw-in bulb.

E26 or E27, what's the difference?

The two screw bases have almost identical diameters, with E26 being the North American standard and E27 the European standard. In France, simply use an E27 bulb: it screws in without an adapter. The accepted voltage, 110 to 240 V, covers both networks anyway.

Can it be plugged into a power outlet?

No, the wiring is hardwired. The wires connect to a wall-mounted cable outlet, without a cord or plug. If there is no light point at the desired location, one must be created before installation, under plaster or in a conduit, with a switch placed upstream of the light fixture.

Does the fabric lampshade get hot?

With a screw-in LED, the heat emitted remains low and the fabric is unaffected. A hotter filament bulb requires maintaining the clearance beneath the lampshade and avoiding high wattages. In both cases, allow it to cool before cleaning or changing the bulb.

Learn more

Compare soft lampshades in our selection of wall lights.
