The cast shadow effect requires a fairly clear wall to be visible: a bare section of partition, a return corner, or the wall of a dining room above a sideboard. In the bedroom, the filtered light is suitable for soft reading light.

General installation rule: with a weight of 1.5 kg, check the support before drilling. In plasterboard, expansion wall plugs are required; do not use simple plastic wall plugs.

Material, finish and care

Woven rattan is a plant fiber: dust it with a low-power vacuum cleaner fitted with a soft brush, or with a dry brush between the strands. Avoid wetting and rubbing it, as both actions loosen the weave. The internal acrylic diffuser, meanwhile, can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth.

Bulb and installation

The socket is an E27 and a warm white LED is provided. The maximum permitted power is 10 W at 220 V: do not exceed this, as heat remains trapped in the enclosed volume of fiber. The connection is made via an electrical cable with a fixed output, and assembly is required after unpacking.

Frequently asked questions

What replacement bulb for this lantern?

An E27 LED of 10 W maximum, like the one supplied originally, in warm white to remain true to the appearance of the fiber. Avoid high-power halogen or incandescent bulbs: they generate heat that the enclosed weave cannot easily dissipate. An LED remains lukewarm and is well suited to this type of volume.

Is rattan sensitive to bathroom humidity?

The manufacturer indicates indoor use and does not provide an IP rating. Plant fibers absorb moisture, swell, and then loosen: a bathroom or laundry room is not the right location. Prefer a living room, bedroom or dining room with normal ventilation.

What lighting effect can be expected from the weave?

Light passes through the gaps between the strands and creates a pattern on nearby surfaces. The effect is all the clearer when the wall light is placed near a light-colored wall and the general lighting is low. In full daylight, the light fixture is seen primarily as a natural fiber object.

Which model to choose from A, B, C and D?

The four references share the same material and E27 socket; they differ in their lantern design. Use the images on the product page to choose the silhouette that suits your room, as the electrical specifications and stated weight of 1.5 kg are the same.

For more

Explore our wall lights in natural materials.
