A stairwell, a living room wall or a wide headboard are better suited to it than a narrow hallway.

General installation rule: center the disc at about 1.50 m from the floor on a living room wall, higher up on a staircase. The 5 kg weight requires fixing into solid material, or expansion anchors on plasterboard.

Material, finish and maintenance

The resin is molded and then spray-painted in matte grey or matte white. These finishes trap dust in the recesses of the texture: a soft brush or a feather duster does the job better than a cloth. Soapy water, on the other hand, leaves rings on matte paint.

Bulb and installation

One bulb is included by default. The socket is an E27 screw type, limited to 40 W: a 6 to 9 W LED already provides a good level of light. The control is done by a push-button on the wall light, without dimming. No driver or transformer is necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Can Veleda be dimmed?

Not with the included bulb: the manufacturer states that it is not dimmable, and the push-button on the wall light does not control the intensity. By replacing this E27 with a dimmable model, dimming becomes possible again, provided that the circuit includes a suitable dimmer.

How to fix a 5 kg wall light?

The stated weight is 5 kg for 41 cm in diameter. On a solid wall, hammer-in anchors are sufficient. On a plasterboard partition, use metal expansion anchors and aim for a stud if possible. Mark the position before drilling, as the disc conceals very few imperfections.

What bulb wattage does Veleda accept?

The manufacturer states a maximum of 40 W on an E27 socket. With LEDs, this leaves a wide margin: 6 to 9 W are sufficient to match the level of an old 60 W bulb. One bulb is included, but nothing prevents replacing it with a 2700 K LED.

Is Veleda designed for outdoor use?

No. The manufacturer indicates an indoor environment and does not provide any protection rating for this model. Without an announced IP rating, it is best to rule out the bathroom and the patio. A living room, bedroom or sheltered stairwell remain suitable locations for this resin disc.

To go further

Discover the other sculpted volumes in our wall light catalog.
