The opaque diffuser prevents glare when viewed up close, making it a good choice at eye level.

General installation rule: 1.60 to 1.70 m above the floor for circulation lighting, and repeat it at regular intervals if the hallway is long, rather than increasing the power of a single light.

Material, finish and care

The body combines metal, iron and glass in white, black or grey. The opaque diffuser shows fingerprints: a dry microfibre cloth is enough to remove them. On a white finish, avoid abrasive creams, which can leave a shiny appearance in places.

Bulb and installation

The socket is a two-pin G9 and the rated power is around 5 W. The bulb is not included and can be LED or filament, depending on the specifications. The power supply is 110–240 V and it is controlled by a standard push-button switch, not included.

Frequently asked questions

Which G9 bulb should I choose for Michelle?

A two-pin G9 bulb, not included. The manufacturer specifies approximately 5 W: stick to this power level with a G9 LED. As the diffuser is opaque, the appearance of the bulb matters little, unlike with clear glass where the filament is visible.

What kind of light does an opaque diffuser produce?

The light source remains invisible and the light is softened, without any bright spots. You gain visual comfort at the expense of directed intensity. It is an accent and circulation light rather than a reading lamp, and should be repeated if the room is long.

Which finish should I choose between white, black and grey?

White blends into a light-coloured partition and remains the most neutral choice. Black creates a sharp contrast and highlights the volume of the disc. Grey is a middle ground, useful on polished concrete or matte paint. The dimensions are identical in all three cases.

Is Michelle suitable for a damp room?

No. The manufacturer states IP20, moisture-resistant but not waterproof, for indoor use. A bathroom or exposed laundry room requires a higher rating, at least IP44 depending on the volume. Install it in a dry, ventilated room.

Learn more

Compare the compact formats in our range of wall lights.
