The shade takes the form of an adjustable saucer, allowing the light to be directed towards the wall, the floor, or an object.

Two finishes are available: bronze and brass. It works above a reading chair, along a hallway to highlight doorways, or directed towards a wall to create reflected light.

General installation rule: before drilling, try the orientation of the saucer on the wall; once the light is directed downwards, the wall light illuminates an area about its own width at table height.

Material, finish, and maintenance

The all-metal construction makes the piece robust, but it heats up under the shade with an incandescent bulb. The bronze has a matte brown hue, while the brass has a lighter yellow hue. Dust the saucer dry and handle the adjustment joint without forcing it, when the light is off.

Bulb and installation

The socket accepts an E26 or E27 base, and the bulb is not included. The manufacturer allows LED, incandescent, or fluorescent, without specifying a maximum wattage: a low-energy LED remains the safest choice in an enclosed metal shade. An electrician is recommended for installation.

Frequently asked questions

How far can the Silva shade be adjusted?

The manufacturer states that the shade is adjustable without specifying the range of motion in degrees. In practice, this type of saucer pivots around its mounting axis to direct the light upwards or downwards. Test the adjustment before fixing it permanently to check the clearance from the wall.

Which E27 bulb is best suited?

A low-wattage E27 LED in warm white matches the bronze and brass finishes and produces little heat under the metal. The manufacturer does not communicate a maximum wattage, which rules out very powerful bulbs. No bulb is supplied with the wall light.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

No, not according to the manufacturer's specifications: the stated rating is IP20 and the declared use is strictly indoor. IP20 offers no protection against water. For a wet room, a light fixture is required whose protection rating is explicitly designed for the volumes concerned.

Bronze or brass depending on the decor?

Bronze, matte and dark, blends into an interior with dark wood and colored walls. Brass, lighter and shinier, stands out on a white wall and matches gold handles. Both versions share the same adjustable saucer and the same socket.

Learn more

Browse all our wall lights.
