Three finishes are listed: chrome, white, and orange. The E14 socket takes a small bulb, 15 W incandescent or LED equivalent.

Two versions are available for purchase: white and orange.

Technical specifications

Dimensions: 15.5 cm wide, 21 cm high

Materials: metal

Listed finishes: chrome, white, orange

Available versions: white, orange

Socket: E14

Bulb: 15 W incandescent or LED equivalent, not included

Dimmer: compatible, dimmer not included

Where to install this wall light?

The listed 15 W makes Bras Métal suitable for accent lighting: an office wall, beside a bed, or in a hallway corner. The all-metal design and orange finish create a bold piece that holds its own on a bare wall without a frame or surrounding decor.

General installation rule: beside a bed, place the centre approximately 1.25 m to 1.35 m above the floor; above a desk, mount it at around 1.50 m to keep the bulb out of sight. With its 15.5 cm width, leave 20 cm of clearance on either side so the piece is not squeezed into a corner.

Material, finish and care

The painted metal, in white or orange, can be dusted with a dry cloth and withstands light damp wiping. Avoid solvent-based products, which can dull the paint. The more reflective chrome finish shows fingerprints and requires more frequent dry wiping.

Bulb and installation

Bras Métal takes an E14 bulb, not included, 15 W incandescent or LED equivalent. This narrow socket accepts candle bulbs and small-diameter globes. Check the available space within the 21 cm body before choosing a long bulb.

Frequently asked questions

Which E14 bulb should I use for 15 W?

A 15 W incandescent E14 or an LED with equivalent light output, which is approximately 2 W to 3 W. Do not exceed the manufacturer's stated wattage: the body is metal and compact, so heat dissipates poorly.

Should I choose the white or orange version?

White blends into a light-coloured wall and keeps the piece discreet, making it suitable for a bedroom. Orange embraces colour and becomes the focal point of the wall, working well in an office or understated hallway. The dimensions and E14 socket are the same.

Is this model sufficient for reading in bed?

With its listed 15 W, this is an accent light. For prolonged reading, the light output remains low, and a model with an adjustable arm that can be positioned closer to the book would be better. However, for a soft glow at bedtime or hallway lighting, the wattage is suitable.

Can the intensity be adjusted?

The manufacturer states that it is compatible with dimmers, which are not included. An E14 bulb marked as dimmable and a control unit designed for this bulb are required. At 15 W, the useful dimming range remains narrow: the effect is most noticeable at the lower end.

For more

See all our wall lights.
