The 71.5 cm version fits in a bedroom, while the 153 cm version spans a large living room and requires an unobstructed wall along its entire length.

General installation rule: mount the base plate at a height of approximately 1.30 to 1.50 m behind a seat, so that the shade overhangs the area to be illuminated without entering the field of vision. Check the clearance from the ceiling before drilling, as the arm does not fold back.

Material, finish and care

Everything is made of metal, with a matte black finish from the body to the shade. This single shade creates a clean line on a light-colored wall and disappears on a dark wall. Dust the arm with a dry cloth along its length; avoid solvent-based products, which can mark matte finishes.

Bulb and installation

The socket accepts E26 or E27 bulbs, the most common types, whether LED or filament; they are not included. The cord is approximately 150 cm long and has its own on/off switch, so there is no need to install a wall switch. The power supply accepts 110–240 V mains voltage.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the 71.5 cm or 153 cm version?

First, measure the distance between the mounting point and the area to be illuminated. The 71.5 cm version is sufficient above a bedside table or the end of a sofa. The 153 cm version, which is 45 cm high, is designed for large spaces where the light needs to reach the center of the room from a side wall.

E26 or E27: which bulb should I buy?

In France, choose an E27: this is the standard large screw base, sold everywhere with LED bulbs. E26 refers to the North American equivalent, with a very similar thread. One bulb is sufficient per lamp, preferably in warm white for reading or ambient lighting.

Is an electrician necessary?

The switch is on the cord, so no wall switch installation is required. You will need to mount the base plate, which requires wall plugs suitable for the wall surface, and complete the electrical connection. If you have any doubts about the wall or the power supply, hire a professional.

Can Ivsolarae be installed outdoors?

No. The manufacturer specifies an IP20 rating and indoor use only: no rain, splashes, or permanent moisture. For a patio or facade, you need a light fixture designed for outdoor use, with a protection rating appropriate for the conditions.

Discover more

Compare the metal designs in our selection of wall lamps.
