In pairs around a mirror, it visually elongates the wall.

General installation rule: for a 35 cm high light, mounting it at around 1.75 m places the bottom of the glass above eye level. Allow about twenty centimetres of clearance above to change the bulb.

Material, finish and maintenance

The metal frame is available in brass or matte black. The glass comes in four shades: diffusing white, smoked grey, blue and clear. The clear glass reveals the bulb filament, while the other three soften it. A soft dry cloth is all that is needed for both materials.

Bulb and installation

Chime takes a small screw-in bulb, listed as E12 or E14 by the manufacturer: in France, buy an E14. With the clear glass, a filament LED enhances the effect, as the bulb remains visible. It is installed on a wall cable outlet.

Frequently asked questions

Which glass should I choose among the four shades?

The white glass diffuses the light most widely and conceals the bulb. Smoked grey darkens the light and creates a soft effect. Blue clearly colors the beam and is best suited for accent lighting. Clear glass leaves the bulb visible: choose it with a stylish filament LED.

Is an E12 bulb required?

No. The manufacturer lists the socket as E12 or E14, two small screw types with very similar thread pitches. On the French market, choose an E14, which is widely available in LED. The E12 designation refers to the North American standard and does not apply to an order delivered in France.

Can the brass frame be paired with blue glass?

Yes. The two frame finishes can be combined with the four types of glass, resulting in eight available references. Brass and blue glass create a bold warm-cool contrast. If you prefer a more understated look, pair the matte black frame with smoked grey glass.

How many should be installed on a hallway wall?

With a diameter of 12 cm, Chime can be repeated without feeling cluttered. Spacing them 1.50 to 2 m apart provides even lighting without pronounced shadows. Allow for one cable outlet per light, and a single switch if you want to turn them all on at once.

For more

Explore tinted glass in our wall light catalogue.
