Burgundy and yellow add a bold splash of colour to an office or teenager's bedroom, while chrome remains neutral.

General installation rule: 1.10 to 1.30 m above the floor above a seated work surface, so that the shade hangs down without interfering with the head. The IP20 rating means this model is intended for dry rooms, away from any water source.

Material, finish and maintenance

Triple-baked paint is more resistant to minor impacts than a single-layer lacquer, which is important for a piece handled several times a day. Wipe with a dry cloth; chrome shows marks quickly and requires regular cleaning, while burgundy and yellow are more forgiving of marks.

Bulb and installation

The socket is an E12/E14, meaning a small screw-in base. Be careful not to buy an E27 out of habit: it will not screw in. A neutral white E14 LED is well suited to office use; in warm white, the wall light becomes an ambient lamp.

Frequently asked questions

What does 360-degree rotation mean?

The manufacturer states that the arm rotates freely, so it can be aimed in any direction around its mounting point. In practice, you can direct the beam towards the work surface, the wall or the ceiling. The adjustment is done by hand, once the base is fixed.

Which colour should I choose for an office?

Black and chrome blend in on a light-coloured wall and suit a minimalist office. White disappears completely on a white wall. Burgundy and yellow have a decorative role and work best on their own, on a clear wall, rather than in pairs.

Is the paint resistant to moisture?

The manufacturer describes the paint as having a corrosion- and rust-resistant treatment, but the protection rating remains IP20. The finish therefore tolerates the ambient air of a normally ventilated room, but does not allow installation in a bathroom or outdoors, where the electrical protection would be insufficient.

Which E14 bulb should I choose for a work surface?

An E14 LED with a wide beam in neutral white around 4000 kelvins provides an accurate colour rendering for sewing, drawing or reading documents. In warm white, visual comfort is better in the evening, but colour perception becomes less accurate.

For more options

Compare work wall lights in our selection of wall lights.
