At 8 cm high, the light bar sits above the frame without overpowering it.

General installation rule: leave 15 to 20 cm between the top of the mirror and the base, and centre the light on the washbasin. Ceiling installation is also suitable. As the wiring is integrated, the cable outlet should be positioned before tiling.

Material, finish and care

The base is made of solid wood in a natural light finish or walnut colour. The diffusers are beige travertine cylinders with a porous grain, which cast a warm, uneven light. Wipe the wood with a dry cloth and clean the stone without water.

Bulb and installation

No bulb to buy: the LED is integrated, with an advertised lifespan of approximately 50,000 hours in warm white 3000 K. The light is compatible with a dimmer, not included, which is useful above a mirror: bright light in the morning, soft light in the evening. It can be mounted on the wall or ceiling.

Frequently asked questions

How many heads should I choose for my mirror?

Align the width of the light with that of the mirror, not the room. The two-head model covers 32 cm and is sufficient for a single washbasin. The three-head model is 50 cm wide, for a wide washbasin. The four-head model reaches 70 cm, for large mirrors.

Is Mika really designed for a bathroom?

The manufacturer presents it as a vanity light, designed for bathrooms and mirrors, but does not provide an IP rating. In the absence of a numerical value, install it away from splashes and have the connection approved by an electrician according to the area concerned.

Can Mika's light be adjusted?

Its intensity can be reduced, provided a dimmer is added, which is not included. The colour temperature, however, is fixed: warm white 3000 K. Above a mirror, this shade warms skin tones, whereas cool white makes them look noticeably harsher.

Can travertine withstand the humidity of a bathroom?

Travertine is a porous rock: steam does not harm it, but liquid water and household products penetrate its crevices and leave marks. Place the light away from splashes and clean the cylinders dry with a soft cloth, never with detergent.

For more

See other sizes in our collection of wall lights.
