The stained glass looks beautiful whether lit or unlit, making it ideal for a wall viewed from the front, in an entrance hall, or on either side of a sideboard.

General installation rule: aim to position the top of the light approximately 1.95 m above the floor, so that the stained glass is at eye level without shining the light directly into people's eyes.

Material, finish and care

The enamel is applied by hand: variations in shade and thickness are a sign of this craftsmanship, not a defect. Dust the stained glass with a soft brush, without rubbing the painted areas. Polished brass only requires a dry cloth and will develop a darker patina over the years.

Bulb and installation

No bulb to buy: the LED is integrated and has a power of approximately 8 W. The manufacturer states that a control module is required; this module is placed behind the base or in a recessed box and must remain accessible. The 3 kg light should be mounted on a solid wall or a support.

Frequently asked questions

What is enameled stained glass?

It is glass covered with colored enamel, which in this case is applied by hand, then fired, cut and polished. Light passes through the clear areas and becomes saturated with color as it passes through. No two pieces will ever have exactly the same design, as the enamel is applied by hand.

Warm white or cool white?

Both versions are available. Warm white, around 3000 K, accentuates the golden tones of the enamel and brass: it is the most common choice for homes. Cool white, close to 6000 K, makes the colors bolder but gives the overall look a harsher feel.

Should space be reserved for the module?

Yes. The control module specified by the manufacturer accompanies the integrated LED and must be replaceable. Reserve an accessible space for it behind the base or in a recessed box before closing up the wall. Your electrician will know how to position it during connection.

Is Liora suitable for a bathroom?

No. The stated rating is IP 20, for dry indoor use. Hand-painted enamel is also poorly suited to cleaning products and repeated condensation. Install it in an entrance hall, living room, bedroom or corridor, away from any room where water is used.

Discover more

Browse the brass wall lights in our wall light catalog.
