The two-head version, 28 cm wide, requires a larger wall space and can be installed facing each other, one oriented to the left and the other to the right.

General installation rule: when placed above a bed, aim for approximately 1.20 m above the floor so that the lampshade remains above the eye level of a seated person, and position the wall light 20 to 30 cm from the edge of the mattress.

Material, finish and care

Brass provides a warm tone that pairs well with light woods, silver remains cooler and more graphic, while white blends into a painted wall. The fabric lampshade should be vacuumed at low power with a soft brush attachment; do not wash it. Wipe the brass with a dry cloth, without using any abrasive products.

Bulb and installation

Each head takes an E12 bulb, not included. This screw-in socket, narrower than the E14 commonly found in France, requires special attention when purchasing: check the stated diameter before ordering. Also measure the clear height under the lampshade to ensure a flame-shaped or spherical bulb fits without touching the fabric.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between left and right orientations?

On the two-head version, the arm extends from either side of the wall plate. Choosing one left and one right creates a symmetrical pair on either side of a bed or mirror. Two identical units, however, create a rhythm oriented in the same direction.

Are E12 sockets easy to find?

The E12 remains less common than the E14 on French shelves, but can be ordered without difficulty from bulb retailers. Measure the thread pitch of the socket before purchasing: some series accept both sizes. Allow for one bulb per head.

Is Elys suitable above a mirror?

The narrow 12 cm single-head version can be installed on either side of a mirror without obstructing the reflection. General installation rule: place both wall lights at the same height, with the center of the lampshade approximately 1.60 m above the floor, for even side lighting of the face.

Which finish pairs well with light wood furniture?

Brass, with its warm tone, complements light oak and ash. Silver, by contrast, creates a cool contrast that is interesting on a grey wall. White blends in completely, leaving the fabric lampshade to carry the presence of the light fixture on its own.

For more

Browse all our wall lights to compare the single- and two-head versions.
