The curve gives a single light source greater reach.

It measures 38 cm wide by 68 cm high and is available in polished nickel or brass.

Technical specifications

Dimensions: 38 cm wide, 68 cm high

Body: brass

Materials: brass and fabric

Finishes: polished nickel, brass

Installation: hardwired

Socket: one E14

Bulb: one 15 W incandescent or LED equivalent, not included

Dimming: compatible with a dimmer, not included

Where to install this wall light?

Its 68 cm height requires an unobstructed wall: the back of a living room, a section of wall above a chest of drawers or in a high-ceilinged hallway. The arc brings the shade forward, so avoid narrow passageways where it may come into contact with the wall.

General installation rule: fix the wall plate approximately 1.20 m above the floor, with the arc rising so that the shade is positioned around 1.80 m high and remains out of sight when seated.

Material, finish and care

Polished nickel is shiny and reflects the wall; it shows fingerprints, which can be removed with a dry microfibre cloth. Brass has a more matte, warmer finish. In both cases, do not get the arm joint or the fabric weave wet.

Bulb and installation

One E14 bulb, not included, with a 15 W incandescent or LED equivalent. The light is hardwired with a cable outlet. Check that the mounting is secure: the arched arm projects the weight forward and exerts leverage on the wall plate.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Kinsley arm adjustable?

The manufacturer describes an arched arm but does not specify any range of movement or adjustment angle. Assume that the curve is fixed and choose the location based on the shade position shown in the product information, rather than assuming you will be able to adjust the arm after installation.

Polished nickel or brass: which finish should I choose?

Polished nickel has a cool grey tone and matches chrome taps and handles. Brass provides a warm yellow tone that stands out more on a dark wall. Both versions measure 38 by 68 cm and feature the same fabric shade.

Is Kinsley suitable above a reading chair?

Its 68 cm height and the arc that projects the shade forward make it suitable for a reading nook, provided it is placed beside the chair rather than directly behind it. With a maximum of one 15 W E14 bulb, choose an LED with a focused beam for greater comfort.

Which E14 bulb is suitable for this model?

An E14 LED equivalent to the stated 15 W incandescent, approximately 2 W, in warm white. If you plan to add a dimmer, choose a model stated as dimmable by its manufacturer: not all E14 LEDs are dimmable, and a non-dimmable bulb will flicker when used with a dimmer.

For more inspiration

Explore the arms and wall brackets in our wall light catalogue.
