It works well above a reading chair, on a clear section of living room wall, or in a bedroom with high ceilings.

General installation rule: for a reading nook, place the bottom of the lampshade approximately 1.40 to 1.50 m above the floor so that the light falls over the book without glaring at someone sitting down.

Avoid narrow hallways: with a 30 cm diameter, the lampshade will protrude into the walkway. The IP 20 rating also means this model is intended for dry rooms.

Material, finish and care

The lampshade is made of white fabric, with a gold or black metal frame. Dust the fabric with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner fitted with a fabric attachment. Do not use water or liquid stain remover, as these may leave a ring. A dry cloth is sufficient for the frame.

Bulb and installation

Ulveleth takes an E14 LED or Edison filament bulb operating at 110–240 V AC. The light fixture comes pre-wired and connects to a wall-mounted cable outlet. It is switched on using an external wall switch, not included, which controls the power supply to the light fixture.

Frequently asked questions

Why an E14 socket on a light fixture of this size?

The E14, or small-base socket, is common on wall lights with fabric lampshades: the socket remains compact and disappears beneath the fabric. The 30 cm diameter of the lampshade is determined by the design of the light fixture, not the size of the bulb. A warm-white E14 LED is well suited to this fixture.

Does the fabric lampshade yellow over time?

Bright white fabric remains susceptible to dust and ambient smoke. Regular dry dusting significantly slows this process. Choosing an LED instead of an incandescent bulb also limits the heat radiated toward the fabric, helping the color retain its appearance over time.

Which finish should I choose, gold or black?

The gold frame softens the overall look and complements light woods and warm tones. The black version accentuates the contrast with the white lampshade and highlights the industrial character of the design. The dimensions are identical in both cases; only the color of the bracket changes.

Can Ulveleth be installed in a bathroom?

No. The manufacturer specifies an IP 20 rating, which is not waterproof and intended for indoor use only. Fabric lampshades are also poorly suited to steam. Reserve this model for the living room, bedroom, or office, and choose a light fixture with a protection rating suitable for a wet room.

Learn more

Explore the sizes and lampshades in our wall light catalogue.
