Above a worktop, workbench, bedside table, or along a staircase, it creates a clear point of light. Three colors allow you to match it to the wall or make it stand out.

General installation rule: approximately 1.60 m from the floor for a walkway wall, lower if it is to illuminate a surface. With a diameter of 25 cm, leave a margin on each side so you do not hit the dome when passing by.

Material, finish, and maintenance

The dome and structure are made of metal and iron, lacquered in white, black, or gray. The frosted glass closes the center of the dome and reduces glare. A damp cloth is enough for the lacquer; then dry it to avoid marks, especially on the white.

Bulb and installation

Orsilus takes a G9 bulb, not included, LED or filament. The approximately 150 cm cord includes its on-off switch, which avoids any wall recessing. Four types of plugs are among the variants: check your choice before ordering to get a French standard socket.

Frequently asked questions

Which body color to choose?

White disappears on a light wall and keeps the light soft around the dome. Black creates a clear silhouette and accentuates the workshop side. Gray is between the two and forgives dust better in a garage or dry laundry room. The shape and dimensions remain identical.

Why frosted glass in the center of the dome?

The dome alone would leave the small G9 bulb visible from the front. The frosted white glass closes the opening and distributes the light, which makes the wall light bearable to the eye when placed at eye level, near a bed for example.

Is a switch to be provided?

No, it is already on the cord. The wall light plugs into an outlet and turns on from the cable, which makes it easy to install in a room already equipped. If you want a look without visible cable, you will need to have the power supply redone by an electrician.

Does Orsilus hold up in a garage or basement?

Only if the place remains dry. The stated rating is IP 20, for indoor use without exposure to water or permanent humidity. A damp basement or an externally ventilated room requires a luminaire designed for this, with a higher numerical rating.

To go further

See the other utilitarian shapes in our wall light catalog.
