The glass diffuses light without any pattern or texture, while the wood provides a warm contrast. Model E, measuring 12 cm wide, fits in narrow corridors; models C and D are better suited to a living room wall.

General installation rule: allow 1.75 m from the floor to the center of the globe in walkways, and lower it to around 1.50 m on either side of a bed so that the light remains below eye level.

Material, finish and care

The smooth glass is easy to clean: wipe with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, then dry. Remove the bulb first. The walnut-finished wooden base should be wiped dry along the grain. The gold-finished metal requires no special products and should never be cleaned with abrasive creams.

Bulb and installation

A screw-in bulb, not included, with an E26 or E27 base, 40 W incandescent or approximately 5 W LED equivalent. Behind a smooth globe, a frosted LED prevents the filament from being visible. The light is hardwired: plan the power supply for the exact location chosen.

Frequently asked questions

Which of the five models should I choose?

Models A and B measure 18 by 28 cm, C measures 20 by 29, D 20 by 30, and E 12 by 25. The smallest, E, is suitable for narrow walls and corridors. The larger models, C and D, are ideal for an open section of a living room or entrance hall.

Should I use a frosted bulb in a smooth globe?

Yes, this is highly recommended. Clear smooth glass leaves the light source visible: an exposed filament would create a glaring spot in the center of the globe. A frosted E27 LED equivalent to 40 W provides an even glow across the entire sphere.

Can the wooden base be mounted on any type of wall?

It is screwed into the wall like any other wall light, using the wall plugs suitable for the surface. On a plasterboard partition, use expansion wall plugs rather than simple plastic ones, as the weight of the glass and wood adds to that of the metal.

What color is available to order?

All five models are available in walnut and gold: dark wood combined with gold-finished metal. This is the only combination available, regardless of the size chosen. Dimensions are therefore the only criterion for choosing between the versions.

For more options

Compare the globes in our range of wall lights.
