Its fifteen-centimetre width makes it suitable for a narrow wall or a mantelpiece.

General installation rule: aim for 1.55 m from the floor to the base of the hand, so that the silhouette and its cast shadow can be viewed while standing, without extending above eye level.

Material, finish and care

The molded polymer retains the contours of the sculpture, where dust can easily settle: a soft brush reaches into them better than a cloth. To remove marks, a barely damp cloth is sufficient, without solvents or abrasive powders that would dull the surface. The wood-grain finish is treated in the same way.

Bulb and installation

The socket is a two-pin G9, and the bulb is not included: allow for a G9 LED equivalent to the stated 5 W. The wiring is fixed: the wires connect to a wall-mounted cable outlet, so the power supply must reach the exact chosen location before installation.

Frequently asked questions

Which G9 bulb should I choose for Aura?

A two-pin G9 LED equivalent to the stated 5 W, in warm white. As G9 bulbs are small, they fit easily into a 15 cm body. Choose a frosted model: the light will then follow the contours of the sculpture instead of forming a harsh spot.

White or wood-grain: which should I choose?

White blends into a light-coloured wall and lets the shape of the hand speak for itself. The wood-grain finish warms up the overall look and matches oak or walnut furniture. Both versions are identical in their dimensions and G9 socket.

Is five watts bright enough?

It provides accent lighting. Five watts incandescent is enough to reveal the contours and cast a glow on the wall, not to illuminate a room. Plan Aura as a supplement to an overhead light, or as a hallway nightlight left on all evening.

Is the wood-grain finish made of wood?

No. The manufacturer describes a polymer body, with metal and acrylic: the wood grain is a printed or moulded finish, not a type of wood. It should therefore be cared for like technical plastic, without oil or wax, and without concern about the ambient humidity of a bedroom.

For more

Explore the sculpted shapes in our wall light catalogue.
