Shorter heights, from 30 to 80 cm, can frame an entrance door or line a path; above 150 cm, the column complements a pillar, gate or courtyard wall. Its 4.5 cm projection remains discreet on a façade.

As a general rule of thumb: to frame a door, install two symmetrical columns so that their tops reach the height of the lintel. Along a path, space them 2 to 3 m apart.

Material, finish and maintenance

Powder-coated aluminium withstands rain and frost without rusting. Rinse the profile with clean water once or twice a year to remove dust and limescale marks, then wipe it. The acrylic diffuser can scratch: avoid abrasive sponges and solvents.

Bulb and installation

No bulb is required: the LED is integrated into the profile. The power supply accepts 90 to 260 V AC, covering the French domestic electrical network. Installation requires a waterproof cable entry at the mounting point. The remote control then adjusts the white light temperature and colours.

Frequently asked questions

Which Rafto height should I choose?

Ten heights are available, from 30 to 240 cm. First, measure the area to be illuminated: a standard entrance door can be framed with a height of 100 to 150 cm, while a low wall only needs 30 to 60 cm. The taller models require a flat wall and a support capable of bearing the mounting hardware.

Can Rafto withstand heavy rain?

The manufacturer states an IP65/IP66 rating and a sealed diffuser, which means it can withstand water jets and bad weather. It does not specify which rating applies to which model. If in doubt, mount the column on a vertical wall rather than in a position exposed to runoff.

How do you change the colour of the light?

Using the remote control supplied with the light. It adjusts the white light from 3000 K, warm, to 6000 K, cool, and switches to RGB mode for vivid colours. Warm white is suitable for evenings, while cool white is ideal for reading a house number or navigating a path.

Do you need an electrician to install it?

The connection is hardwired and carried out outdoors: it requires a waterproof cable entry and compliance with installation regulations. We recommend entrusting this part of the installation to an electrician, especially for the taller models, which are difficult to hold in place while being mounted.

Discover more

See other outdoor models from our wall light catalogue:

Cavto, aluminium for outdoor use

Chester, linear outdoor profile

Matio, IP65 oval light

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1050/3949/5499/files/GeneratedImageApril19_2026-9_39PM_1.png?v=1793206960
