The capsules hang low and work well on either side of a bed or along a vertical mirror. The wider spheres are striking on their own on a living room or entryway wall.

General installation rule: for a 78 cm capsule, mount the backplate at approximately 1.80 m above the floor so that the glass is at eye level. Clear glass reveals the bulb, which should be kept out of direct view.

Material, finish, and care

Clear glass shows the filament, while amber glass warms the light and partially conceals the light source. The metal is available in copper, silver, or black. Clean the glass with a dry microfiber cloth and avoid acidic products, which can damage the copper plating.

Bulb and installation

The socket is an E26 or E27 screw socket. The manufacturer accepts either an LED or a filament bulb, one per wall light, not included. The wiring is fixed, 110-240 V, and connects to a wall cable outlet controlled by a switch, not included.

Frequently asked questions

Sphere or capsule: how to choose?

The sphere, with a diameter of 20 or 25 cm, diffuses a wide light and occupies the wall horizontally. The capsule, at 13 or 15 cm, is narrower but hangs down to 78 cm. Choose the capsule along a mirror or headboard, and the sphere on a clear living room wall.

Should you choose clear or amber glass?

Clear glass reveals the bulb: it pairs well with a filament bulb, but less so with a bare LED. Amber glass tints the light and softens the light source, making it ideal for a bedroom. Both shades are available in all four sizes and with all three metal finishes.

What bulb should you choose for Alice?

An E27 screw bulb, or E26 depending on the country, not included. The socket accepts both LED and filament bulbs. With clear glass, a filament bulb is more pleasant to look at. Check that the bulb's diameter will fit inside the glass, especially with the 13 cm capsule.

Can Alice be installed in a bathroom?

No. The product sheet indicates IP20, with no protection against water, for dry indoor use. Areas near a shower or sink require at least an IP44 rating. Alice is suitable for a living room, bedroom, entryway, or hallway, away from steam and splashes.

For more options

Compare the glass diffusers in our wall light catalog.
