In the living room, use it as an accent light.

General installation rule: on either side of a headboard, aim for 150 cm above the floor so that the shade remains above the line of sight of a seated person.

Material, finish and care

The copper body has a gold finish, and the shade is made of fabric. Dust the fabric with a soft brush without getting it wet. For the copper, a dry cloth is enough: abrasive products leave matte marks.

Bulb and installation

The bulb is supplied: a warm-light LED with an E14 base. The maximum permitted power is 7 W at 220 V. The light requires assembly during installation, and the manufacturer recommends that the connection be carried out by an electrician. The cable is not adjustable in length.

Frequently asked questions

What are the five shapes available?

The variants are designated A, B, C, D and E. Each combines a classic shade with a different lamp holder design to suit various locations. The product page photos show the five silhouettes. The variant is selected at the time of ordering from the list of models.

Do I need to buy an extra bulb?

No. A warm-light LED bulb with an E14 base is supplied with Silva. If you wish to replace it later, stick to an E14 base and do not exceed 7 W, which is the maximum power indicated by the manufacturer. A more powerful bulb would cause the fabric shade to overheat.

Is Silva compatible with a dimmer?

No. The technical sheet lists it as non-dimmable and not compatible with smart home systems. Intensity adjustment is therefore not possible, even by replacing the bulb. To modulate the light in a bedroom, it is better to use multiple low-power light sources than to try to dim this one.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

No. Silva has an IP 20 rating and is intended for indoor use. Furthermore, a fabric shade does not handle the ambient humidity of a bathroom well, which stains and loosens it. Reserve it for dry rooms and choose a model with a higher IP rating for a bathroom.

For more

Models with fabric shades are gathered in our wall light catalogue.
