This effect is particularly noticeable in high-traffic areas such as an entrance hall, corridor, or the return to the dining room. With its 10 cm diameter, Dirk fits neatly into narrow spaces between two openings.

General installation rule: to allow the reflections to spread without causing glare, position the center of the wall light between 1.65 and 1.75 m above the floor, slightly above eye level.

Material, finish and care

The crystal is molded, cut and polished, giving it sharp edges. It should be dry-cleaned with a soft, lint-free cloth, as marks are highly visible on a transparent material. The brass or black mount only needs dusting.

Bulb and installation

Use an E14 LED or filament bulb with a maximum wattage of 15 W. The manufacturer states that a control box is required: check the available space behind the mounting plate with your electrician. The fixture connects to a fixed cable outlet at 110-240 V.

Frequently asked questions

Which bulb best showcases the crystal?

An E14 exposed filament bulb creates distinct sparkles in the cut crystal because the light source remains a point source. In contrast, a frosted LED provides a softer, more even effect. In either case, do not exceed 15 W, the maximum wattage specified by the manufacturer for this model.

Is Dirk suitable for a small entrance hall?

Yes. Its 10 cm diameter is compact, and its 36 cm height provides presence without cluttering the space. In a small area, a single wall light above a console table is sufficient; there is no need to double up, as the crystal reflections alone add plenty of visual interest to the wall.

Does the black finish change the lighting effect?

The crystal remains clear in both versions, so the light it diffuses is the same. The black mount contrasts more sharply with the crystal sparkles, while the brass finish warms the overall look. The choice should be made to complement the handles, frames and other metalwork in the room.

Can Dirk be installed in a kitchen?

It can be installed in a dry kitchen area away from the sink and stove, as the manufacturer states an IP20 rating and indoor use. However, avoid areas exposed to splashes and greasy vapors, which settle on the crystal and make cleaning much more frequent.

Discover more

Continue exploring our selection of decorative wall lights.
