The height of the column increases with the number of lights: the 8-light version requires a clear section of wall, without a picture or shelf nearby.

It is connected by direct wiring, without a cord: the cable outlet must fall behind the mounting plate. General installation rule: centre the column at around 1.50 m from the floor for the short version, and slightly higher for the 8-light version.

Material, finish and care

The petals are made of ceramic, supported by a metal backbone. The ceramic is rigid but brittle: handle each petal carefully without forcing it during assembly. A feather duster or dry cloth is then sufficient, without abrasive products.

Bulb and installation

Kaivo comes without bulbs. You will need two-pin G4 bulbs, LED, incandescent or fluorescent, depending on your choice, one for each light. Allow for four, six or eight light sources depending on the version. The wall light connects directly to the mains at 110 to 240 V and requires the petals to be assembled before fixing. The manufacturer recommends hiring an electrician for installation.

Frequently asked questions

How many bulbs are needed for Kaivo?

As many as there are lights: four, six or eight depending on the version chosen. Each light point receives a two-pin G4 bulb, not supplied. Plan for identical light sources so that the cascade of petals maintains a uniform colour, and buy one or two spares at the same time as the light fixture.

What is the difference between arrangements A and B?

The manufacturer offers two petal arrangements for each number of lights. The number of light sources and the materials remain the same: only the way the petals follow one another along the column changes. The photos on the product sheet show the two arrangements, which should be compared before ordering.

Is Kaivo suitable for a bathroom?

No. The stated rating is IP20, reserved for dry rooms. The ceramic does not change this limitation, which applies to the electrical part and the accessible G4 sockets. Reserve Kaivo for the bedroom, living room or entrance, and choose a model with at least an IP44 rating for a room with water.

Can Kaivo be connected to a dimmer?

The manufacturer states that the model is not dimmable. It is operated by a simple switch, which should be planned for at the time of connection. If you want to lower the light, play instead with the colour and power of the G4 bulbs chosen, sticking to warm white for a bedroom.

For more

Browse all our wall lights.
