Two sizes are available, the larger measuring 38 cm deep, 35 cm wide and 40 cm high.

The socket is an E26 or E27.

Technical specifications

First size: D 30 cm x W 25 cm x H 35 cm

Second size: D 38 cm x W 35 cm x H 40 cm

Materials: solid wood, metal and fabric

Socket: E26 or E27

Bulb: not included

Where to install this wall light?

Both sizes are generous, especially the second with its 38 cm depth. This is not a light for a narrow hallway: it projects significantly into the room.

It works well on a long living room wall, behind a reading chair, or above the head of a bed in a spacious bedroom. The fabric lampshade gives off a soft light, directed by the shape of the cone rather than diffused in all directions.

General installation rule: with a 38 cm projection, place the light fixture away from walkways, or above a piece of furniture that already defines its footprint.

Material, finish and maintenance

Solid wood forms the support, metal the structure, and fabric the lampshade. The fabric should be brushed dry, without water or stain remover. For the wood, a soft cloth is sufficient; leave space around the lampshade so that the heat from the bulb can escape.

Bulb and installation

The socket is an E26 or E27 and the bulb is not supplied: in France, the E27 is the corresponding standard. Under a fabric lampshade, an LED is recommended, as it significantly reduces the heating of the fabric compared to a filament bulb.

General installation rule: connection to a fixed cable outlet. The weight is not provided, but a solid wood fixture of this size requires installation by a professional.

Frequently asked questions

Which size to choose between the two versions?

The first, measuring 30 cm deep and 35 cm high, is suitable for a standard-sized bedroom. The second, measuring 38 cm deep and 40 cm high, is designed for larger spaces. Measure the available clearance in front of the wall before choosing.

What bulb to choose for Alvuvys?

An E27 bulb, not supplied, one per wall light. Choose an LED: under a fabric lampshade, the heat from a filament bulb accumulates and eventually marks the fabric. A warm shade pairs better with solid wood.

How to clean the fabric lampshade?

Dry, with a soft brush or the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner set to the lowest setting. Do not use water, cleaning foam, or stain remover: the stretched fabric will deform as it dries and leave a visible halo as soon as the light fixture is turned on.

Can it be used as a reading light?

Its lampshade directs the light downwards, making it suitable for a reading nook or above the head of a bed. However, the orientation is not adjustable according to the available data. General installation rule: position it slightly in front of the reader's shoulder.

For more

Discover the combinations of wood and fabric in our range of wall lights.
