Being able to turn the cylinder allows you to direct the light from the ceiling to your book without getting up, changing how you use it in the evening.

General installation rule: 1.20 to 1.35 m from the floor at the head of the bed, a height at which the cylinder remains within reach once seated. In a hallway, raise it to around 1.70 m so that the rotation sweeps the wall without obstructing the passage.

Material, finish and maintenance

Wood forms the visible part, while metal makes up the structure. A light shade shows fingerprints more quickly than dark wood, and this model is handled often: a dry cloth wiped over it from time to time is enough. Avoid water, which penetrates the pores and leaves watermarks.

Bulb and installation

The SMD LED is included and stated to be replaceable, so there is nothing to buy initially. The manufacturer also states that it is dimmable, which is rare in this range: the intensity can be adjusted rather than being fixed. The connection is made via a 110 to 240 V cable, with assembly upon delivery.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does the 360-degree rotation allow?

The cylinder pivots on its support without any stop, allowing the beam to be directed upwards, downwards, or to the side. At the bedside, it can be aimed at the pages in the evening and toward the ceiling for ambient lighting. It is a manual adjustment that can be reset according to current use.

How does the detachable part work?

The manufacturer describes a body that can be removed from its base and then placed on any magnetic metal surface. This allows the light to be moved for a specific task and then put back in place. The wall support, meanwhile, remains fixed and houses the light fixture's electrical connection.

Does dimming require a wall dimmer?

The manufacturer states that the light fixture is dimmable, without detailing the control system. If you are considering a dimmer on the circuit, have your electrician check compatibility at the time of connection: not all LEDs are compatible with all dimmers, and a poorly matched model can cause flickering.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. The stated rating is IP20, with no protection against water, and wood does not tolerate a persistently damp environment well. The manufacturer recommends the bedroom, living room, hallway, and office. For a bathroom mirror, choose a light fixture with a rating of at least IP44.

Learn more

All wood types can be found in our wall light catalog.
