The arc, however, must be chosen in the correct direction: the left-facing version for the left side of the bed, the right-facing version for the other.

General installation rule: mount the plate at a height of approximately 1.30 to 1.45 m above the floor at the head of the bed, so that the glass falls slightly above shoulder height when seated.

Material, finish and care

The arc combines brass with a matte black-grey finish, and the diffuser is made of white glass. Wipe the brass with a dry cloth and avoid polishing creams, which wear down the finish. The white glass can be cleaned with a microfibre cloth when the power is off and the bulb has cooled.

Bulb and installation

The socket is a two-pin G9, and the bulb is not included. A G9 LED is sufficient. The wiring is fixed and operates at 110–240 V: provide a cable outlet at the installation point, controlled by a standard wall switch, not included.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the left-facing or right-facing version?

Look at the wall from the front: the left-facing version curves its arc to the left, and the right-facing version to the right. To frame a bed with two symmetrical wall lights, order one of each. For a single installation, choose the direction that keeps the glass away from the adjacent wall or corner.

Which G9 bulb is best for Kim?

A two-pin G9 bulb, not included, with LED or filament according to the specifications. Warm white remains consistent with the brass. A single bulb powers the wall light. The maximum wattage is not specified: refer to the instructions provided with the luminaire.

Is the 38 cm projection too much for a bedroom?

It depends on the available space. Above a headboard, the glass hovers over the mattress and does not obstruct anyone. In a narrow corridor, however, 38 cm extends quite far: measure the remaining clearance before drilling and prefer a wall that is not walked past closely.

Can Kim be used to light a bathroom?

No. The specifications state IP20 and for dry indoor use only. Areas around a sink or shower require at least IP44. Reserve Kim for a bedroom, living room, or entrance hall, away from areas exposed to steam and splashes.

Discover more

See the other brass options in our range of wall lights.
