Its integrated button allows it to be operated independently of the ceiling light, which is convenient when one person is reading and the other is sleeping.

General installation rule for a reading light: 30 to 40 cm above the mattress, which is often 1.10 m to 1.20 m above the floor, and slightly offset to the side so that the light source remains out of sight.

Material, finish and maintenance

The body is made of painted aluminum, available in white or black, with an acrylic section. The manufacturer lists polishing, electroplating and painting among the processes used. A soft, dry cloth is all that is needed, provided the light is switched off and has cooled down; acrylic can be scratched by abrasive products.

Bulb and installation

The LED and driver are integrated, providing approximately 10 W: there is no bulb to buy or battery to replace. The light is switched on using the push-button on the light, with no dimming. The stated weight of 2 kg for a height of 20 cm requires a wall plug suitable for the wall surface.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose warm or cool light?

Two versions are available. Warm light is suitable for a bedroom: it is less tiring on the eyes in the evening and helps prepare you for sleep. Cool light provides a clearer appearance and is better suited to an office or worktop. The color temperature is chosen when ordering and cannot be changed later.

Can the intensity of this reading light be dimmed?

No. The manufacturer states that the push-button is non-dimmable: the light turns on or off. No compatibility with a dimmer is indicated. If you want low light in the evening, the warm light version is the more comfortable of the two for reading.

Does it require a bulb or batteries?

Neither. The LED is integrated into the body with its driver, and the manufacturer states that the model is not battery-powered. It connects to the 110 to 240 V domestic electrical supply. No replacement of the light source is therefore required during the life of the light.

How much space does it take up next to a bed?

The body measures 8.5 cm in diameter and 20 cm high, making it one of the most discreet options for a bedside light. It leaves the bedside table completely free, unlike a table lamp, and can even fit between a bed and a door frame.

For more options

See other close-range lighting options in our selection of wall-mounted lights.
