It is ideal for spaces where width is limited: beside a mirror, along a door frame or in a row in a hallway. The 60 cm version requires a tall wall, while the 30 cm version is sufficient above a bed.

The IP20 rating limits installation to dry rooms. The wiring is rigid, so the cable outlet must be positioned at the exact installation point.

General installation rule: for a vertical column light, align the centre of the body at approximately 1.50 to 1.60 m above the floor.

Material, finish and care

Alabaster is a translucent stone with veining that varies from block to block: no two pieces will ever have the same pattern. The base is made of metal, and the entire light has a white finish. Clean the stone dry with a soft cloth, without water or household cleaning products.

Bulb and installation

The LED is built in: no bulb needs to be purchased and no socket fitted. The light connects to a standard wall switch at 110 to 240 V; the switch is not supplied. For a dimmable version, the manufacturer recommends a Triac-type thyristor dimmer and specifies that the dimmer driver must be installed outside the mounting plate.

Frequently asked questions

Which Orcarion height should I choose?

The 30 cm version is suitable above a bed or in a hallway with busy walls. The 45 cm version neatly frames a standard-sized mirror. The 60 cm version, the only one with a 12 cm diameter, is designed for tall entrances and stairwells, where a vertical light has room to stand out.

Can the intensity of Orcarion be varied?

Only the dimmable version allows this. The manufacturer recommends a Triac-type thyristor dimmer for smooth control and requires the dimmer driver to be placed outside the mounting plate. Check the version you have selected before ordering a dimmer, then have the installation approved by an electrician.

Is Orcarion suitable for a bathroom?

No. The stated IP20 rating means it is not waterproof and is intended for dry indoor use only. A bathroom requires a rating suitable for the installation area. Orcarion is better suited to a bedroom, entrance hall, hallway or living room, where the stone will be protected from steam and splashes.

Do two Orcarion wall lights look alike?

Not exactly. The body is made of alabaster, a natural stone with veining that varies from block to block. Two columns placed side by side will share the same shape, height and white finish, but not the same internal pattern in the stone. This is a characteristic of the material.

For more inspiration

Explore all our wall lights.
