The alabaster shade forms a vertical band that the light shines through from end to end.

The body is made of brass, available in an aged brass or black finish, each paired with white alabaster. Elcarora works well on either side of a large mirror, along a staircase, or in an entrance hall with high ceilings, where a compact model would get lost.

General installation rule: to frame a mirror, aim for the centre of the band at around 1.60 m from the floor; allow for an 8 cm overhang, as the stated depth is 8 cm.

Material, finish and care

Alabaster is a translucent stone with veining that varies from block to block: the manufacturer warns that the patterns vary and that the piece delivered will not exactly match the photos. Aged brass has an irregular dark patina. Clean the alabaster dry, without detergent.

Bulb and installation

Elcarora takes a GU10 bulb, not supplied. This pin format is mainly available as a directional LED: the beam will therefore strike the alabaster rather than diffusing in all directions. The wall light connects to a fixed cable outlet, which should be installed by an electrician.

Frequently asked questions

Which GU10 bulb is suitable for Elcarora?

A warm white GU10 LED highlights the translucency of the alabaster. As GU10s are directional light sources, the beam angle changes the effect: a wide beam illuminates the entire band, while a narrow beam concentrates the light near the socket. The bulb is not supplied.

How much space is needed for a 55 cm wall light?

Allow for an unobstructed section of wall at least 70 cm high so that the alabaster column has space above and below. 10 cm is sufficient in width, and the light fixture extends 8 cm into the room. Also measure the clearance from a door or corner.

Should you choose the aged brass or black finish?

Aged brass warms the white alabaster and pairs well with gold-coloured taps and dark woods. The black version creates a deeper contrast and blends into dark joinery or a coloured wall. The stone remains identical in both cases.

Why is there a production time of twenty days?

The manufacturer states a production time of twenty days for this model. The shade is cut from alabaster, a material worked piece by piece. Allow for this time in your project, especially if the wall light needs to be installed before painting or the delivery of a piece of furniture.

For more

View our full range of indoor wall lights.
