At 25 cm wide, it fills a section of wall without overwhelming it.

General installation rule: in a child's bedroom, mount the light at around 1.20 m above the floor so that the design is visible from the bed while keeping the bulb out of reach.

Material, finish and care

Acrylic scratches more easily than glass: clean it with a soft microfibre cloth. Never use an abrasive sponge or an alcohol-based product, as these will dull the surface. The wooden base and metal frame only need to be dusted.

Bulb and installation

A single G9 bulb is sufficient, with a maximum incandescent wattage of 7 W or an LED equivalent. An LED is a much better choice for an acrylic shade, as the material is sensitive to prolonged heat. Hardwired connection to a fixed cable outlet.

Frequently asked questions

Which version should I choose: gold and walnut or chrome and black?

The gold and walnut version has a warm, soft look, making it well suited to a bedroom. The chrome and black version has a more graphic appearance, ideal for an entrance hall or contemporary corridor. The dimensions, socket and maximum wattage are the same in both cases.

Why choose an LED for this model?

Acrylic does not tolerate continuous heat well, and a G9 halogen bulb generates a lot of heat in an enclosed space. A 2 W to 4 W LED provides the equivalent of the stated 7 W incandescent wattage while remaining cool to the touch. It is also a safer choice in a child's bedroom.

How to clean an acrylic shade without marking it?

First, use a dry brush to remove dust, then wipe with a microfibre cloth slightly dampened with plain water. Avoid glass cleaners, which often contain alcohol, and all abrasive powders. Dry with a second soft cloth to prevent marks.

Does Galileo provide enough light for a corridor?

With a single G9 bulb limited to an equivalent of 7 W, it provides accent lighting. In a short corridor, one or two lights can illuminate the way. For a longer corridor, add another light source or install multiple lights.

Discover more

Browse the decorative models in our wall light catalogue.
